Shadow Logic

OC 1.0, but this time for real

Organized Chaos 1.0

When I was designing my website, I started out with a two column design that was squished to the left and even smaller than the design I have now. I remember that my first idea for the logo was SHADOW LOGIC in the font Defused surrounded by a rectangle and rotated. I wonder what must have gotten into me back then. The design was clean and had a nice little navigation section on the left with a handwritten font, but it was boring. Because of my perfectionist personality, I wasted another few months remaking it and getting the decent Shadow Logic that’s in front of you right now.

Luckily, with a year of experience, it only took me two weeks to redo OC’s design. When I told my friends I was redoing it, some of them were dismayed, but it turned out that they liked my new version better. This time I focused the color scheme on only black and indigo with another squished-to-the-left layout. Now that I’m done, I can’t stand looking at my old version of the website design. What about you? Leave your feedback.

It looks great! But behind the content box (The rectangle) the background seems empty. You seem to have a design going on in the navigation bar. Perhaps you can extend that down to the middle of the page?

@Jeff: “The rectangle” is empty because that’s where all the content and text goes; if I add any extra graphic embellishments it may look nice but it’ll be hard to see anyway. Plus it’ll make it even harder to repeat the image going down the page and it’ll bloat the file size. About the navigation bar: though it does overlay some of that background stuff, there isn’t really much of the background anyway, and I don’t want to push the actual content of the page down too much.
